My kids love to come to me the night before a school party and nicely inform me that they are supposed to bring in a treat for the class.

I just love them for it. If you’re a Mom or Dad, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about. It can be extremely frustrating. That is especially true for me, because the closest grocery store is nearly 10 miles from my house. So, I often find myself traveling the 20 round-trip miles after they are in bed to get something.

After a few times of this, I have learned my lesson though. If nothing else, I try to keep the ingredients for at least some chocolate chip cookies on hand. The last time, I got lucky. We had miniature peanut butter cups in the freezer leftover from Easter candy.

I had seen a recipe for peanut butter cup cookies on All Recipes a few weeks prior, so I knew exactly what I was going to make. The kids aren’t going to pressure me anymore with their snacks!
