We had a great turnout for our party, and we even got a few pretty nice gifts for the house, which I wasn’t expecting at all. Before everyone left, they were all talking about what a good time they had. Soon, my husband was inviting everyone back for the same kind of gathering the following year. He usually doesn’t like people at the house so I was in shock. Now we get to enjoy this same exact group of people, and maybe even a few more next year. I told my sister-in-law to make sure she brought the salad again. It wouldn’t be the same without it!

Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Group Recipes:

“One bite and your hooked.”

We can’t have a BBQ without this salad all summer long.

I make this all the time, only instead of mayo I use sour cream, because that is how my grandmother and my mother made it.

My father made it all the time with sour cream. Since he passed no one can make it as good. Sour cream is the way to go less calories as well if you use light sour cream. Light mayo is awful.

As the above person said, I make this but use sour cream and I place my sliced cucumbers in a collandar and add salt and garlic powder place a plate or some type of weight on top of the cucumbers, let stand for at least 2 hours….add sour cream and onions are optional, I don’t usually use them, they over take the cucumber and garlic flavors. This is my grandmother’s Hungarian recipe.

Can anyone tell me what is a domino sugar? Or what is the equivalent of it in tablespoon or teaspoon? Thank you. I will try to do this first time. Hope it is good.

Domino is just a brand name, it’s regular white sugar.

    Carmela,
Domino sugar is simply the brand name. In the recipe, it’s simply white granulated sugar.

Carmela. Domino sugar is just a brand name. Any plain white sugar will work
