I was so looking forward to summer vacation. Something about not having to pack a lunch for three kids every morning sounded pretty good to me. That, and not having to try and get three cranky kids out of bed every morning. I started counting down the days. The closer we got to the end of the school year though, the more events started popping up. Various camps, clubs, and sporting clinics were weasling their way into my relaxing summer. So much for that idea. Well, at least I wasn’t having to get up at the crack of dawn for these kinds of things so I had to stay positive.

The evenings were looking like they were going to be just as busy, if not busier! I decided I wasn’t going to go crazy over all that was happening. I was just going to make sure to do some good planning and organizing.

Part of that included getting easy meals that I could prepare on those nights when we were going to be running in seven different directions. This Johnny Marzetti casserole took first place after I made it once.

What happened to all the actual recipies? you tell a story about them and a picture however you do not give the ingredients to make it at home. Help, can you please fix the problem. Thank you very much

What is the name of the recipe, I didn’t see it on there anywhere.

    • Donna August 27, 2017 at 4:47 pm Reply

Say I’m sorry Nancy! It’s not hem, it’s you not following the directions. Some people hit the wrong arrow button but I am quite not savvy and figured it out.. BTW, it’s a great recipe…

What a smarmy, condescending response to Nancy. Maybe it was very important to you Donna, to show people how smart you were that you figured out how to get to the recipe. Bully for you! But doing it by mocking and being condescending for no reason is just being a jerk. I hope if and when technology (and yes, a “simple” web page constitutes technology) finally trips you up, some stranger is nicer to you in their helpful response than you were to Nancy. Now Say “I’m Sorry” to Nancy, and hopefully, you both enjoyed the great recipe.

Marzetti’s is/was a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio where I grew up. Supposedly the recipe was for their signature casserole but is a bit different than this one. My Mother made it, even for company. No mushrooms, regular flat noodles and there was canned corn in it.

    • DeeDee October 16, 2017 at 8:41 pm Reply

Thanks! I am allergic to mushrooms so I was wondering what would be a good substitute. I was thinking corn, then TaDa…there was your comment. Thank you again.

It would be nice if you could just print the recipe ONLY without the story and all the pics. Please fix your website!

    • jessicafaidley June 20, 2017 at 11:43 am Reply

Karen, you have the option via your print settings to only print the text that you want by choosing the page and highlighting the area to be printed.

      • Bonnie July 23, 2017 at 2:41 pm Reply

Agree, Very easy to print only the recipe. But fun to have a little story to it too.

I first saw this recipe in a 1940 cookbook belonging to my Mother-in-law. It’s a great party dish.

    Can this dish be frozen

  9. Penny June 27, 2017 at 12:08 am Reply

My grama made this with cooked large egg noodles, leftover cubes pork roast and any chopped leftover veggies, a large jar or 2 cans stewed tomatoes. Put in 9 X 13 pan cover w/ foil. You can remove foil and sprinkle with cheese or bread crumbs. Bake 1 hour total.

So very different than the original recipe so don’t understand how it could be called Johnny Marzetti. But very interesting too.

    • Kandy August 19, 2017 at 3:05 am Reply

Penny your post is the very first one I have ever seen that states pork roast! That was how my momma made it too! I have only seen the hamburger one and that is not what I remember at all. Thank you for clarifying and not making me think I was still losing my mind!!!! Do you have a recipe you use?

  10. Vilma Blanco June 27, 2017 at 2:06 pm Reply

It’s just pathetic how many pages one has to go through to get a recipe. I WANT THE RECIPE EASILY…NOT HAVING TO SEE ADVERTISEMENTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND MAKING MY COMPUTER FREEZE UP. Also, you put all this shit in huge print to take up the page forcing us to go to another page. In case you haven’t realized, IT’S US THE READERS WHO PAY FOR THE INTERNET SO YOU GUYS CAN ADVERTISE.

    • jessicafaidley June 27, 2017 at 2:41 pm Reply

Vilma, you have to click one time on the “NEXT PAGE” link at the bottom of the page and the recipe is right there. Also, the last time I checked, I pay my own Internet bill 🙂 Thanks for your comments. I needed some entertainment to break up the monotony of my morning.

    • Bonnie July 23, 2017 at 2:44 pm Reply

I had no problem finding the recipe, reading all the info, then highlighting only the recipe, copying it to a ‘blank page’ and then printing. VERY SIMPLE TO DO.

  11. ClairdLune July 9, 2017 at 6:17 pm Reply

The internet is free, Vilma. No one is forcing you to continue to come to this page, so it’s free in that respect too. You’re FREE to keep coming or choose to never come again, you’re also FREE to complain as well, even if it’s infinitely more annoying than clicking NEXT PAGE to get to the recipe.

I can’t believe the comments that they can’t find the recipe. You just click on next red next page with arrows. Then get on your computer setting on the top right of your computer and click on print and copy only the page with the recipe. How hard is that. Lol

This is the same recipe I uswe. But very helpful to anyone that didn’t know it. Alsowhy ccan’t we simply explain something to someone and not make them feel bad. This is what is wrong with society.
