I was so looking forward to summer vacation. Something about not having to pack a lunch for three kids every morning sounded pretty good to me. That, and not having to try and get three cranky kids out of bed every morning. I started counting down the days. The closer we got to the end of the school year though, the more events started popping up. Various camps, clubs, and sporting clinics were weasling their way into my relaxing summer. So much for that idea. Well, at least I wasn’t having to get up at the crack of dawn for these kinds of things so I had to stay positive.
The evenings were looking like they were going to be just as busy, if not busier! I decided I wasn’t going to go crazy over all that was happening. I was just going to make sure to do some good planning and organizing.
Part of that included getting easy meals that I could prepare on those nights when we were going to be running in seven different directions. This Johnny Marzetti casserole took first place after I made it once.

What happened to all the actual recipies? you tell a story about them and a picture however you do not give the ingredients to make it at home. Help, can you please fix the problem. Thank you very much
Hi, Nancy. Please click on the NEXT PAGE link and you’ll go directly to the ingredients and instructions.
Click the red next page.
What is the name of the recipe, I didn’t see it on there anywhere.
Say I’m sorry Nancy! It’s not hem, it’s you not following the directions. Some people hit the wrong arrow button but I am quite not savvy and figured it out.. BTW, it’s a great recipe…
What a smarmy, condescending response to Nancy. Maybe it was very important to you Donna, to show people how smart you were that you figured out how to get to the recipe. Bully for you! But doing it by mocking and being condescending for no reason is just being a jerk. I hope if and when technology (and yes, a “simple” web page constitutes technology) finally trips you up, some stranger is nicer to you in their helpful response than you were to Nancy. Now Say “I’m Sorry” to Nancy, and hopefully, you both enjoyed the great recipe.
Nancy, click on the red recipe highlighted in the previous page
clicking the next page link takes you to a false page with click advertising. reporting this again.
Marzetti’s is/was a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio where I grew up. Supposedly the recipe was for their signature casserole but is a bit different than this one. My Mother made it, even for company. No mushrooms, regular flat noodles and there was canned corn in it.
Thanks! I am allergic to mushrooms so I was wondering what would be a good substitute. I was thinking corn, then TaDa…there was your comment. Thank you again.
It would be nice if you could just print the recipe ONLY without the story and all the pics. Please fix your website!
Karen, you have the option via your print settings to only print the text that you want by choosing the page and highlighting the area to be printed.
Agree, Very easy to print only the recipe. But fun to have a little story to it too.
I always find the recipe, with no trouble at all.
would be so nice to be able to print this
I first saw this recipe in a 1940 cookbook belonging to my Mother-in-law. It’s a great party dish.
Can this dish be frozen
My grama made this with cooked large egg noodles, leftover cubes pork roast and any chopped leftover veggies, a large jar or 2 cans stewed tomatoes. Put in 9 X 13 pan cover w/ foil. You can remove foil and sprinkle with cheese or bread crumbs. Bake 1 hour total.
So very different than the original recipe so don’t understand how it could be called Johnny Marzetti. But very interesting too.
Penny your post is the very first one I have ever seen that states pork roast! That was how my momma made it too! I have only seen the hamburger one and that is not what I remember at all. Thank you for clarifying and not making me think I was still losing my mind!!!! Do you have a recipe you use?
It’s just pathetic how many pages one has to go through to get a recipe. I WANT THE RECIPE EASILY…NOT HAVING TO SEE ADVERTISEMENTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND MAKING MY COMPUTER FREEZE UP. Also, you put all this shit in huge print to take up the page forcing us to go to another page. In case you haven’t realized, IT’S US THE READERS WHO PAY FOR THE INTERNET SO YOU GUYS CAN ADVERTISE.
Vilma, you have to click one time on the “NEXT PAGE” link at the bottom of the page and the recipe is right there. Also, the last time I checked, I pay my own Internet bill 🙂 Thanks for your comments. I needed some entertainment to break up the monotony of my morning.
I had no problem finding the recipe, reading all the info, then highlighting only the recipe, copying it to a ‘blank page’ and then printing. VERY SIMPLE TO DO.
The internet is free, Vilma. No one is forcing you to continue to come to this page, so it’s free in that respect too. You’re FREE to keep coming or choose to never come again, you’re also FREE to complain as well, even if it’s infinitely more annoying than clicking NEXT PAGE to get to the recipe.
must be a full moon
I can’t believe the comments that they can’t find the recipe. You just click on next red next page with arrows. Then get on your computer setting on the top right of your computer and click on print and copy only the page with the recipe. How hard is that. Lol
Some of you need to add ADBLOCK to your computers. You can see articles you click on without all the advertisements.
Everybody please grow up thers enough drama in life its a recipe , nbd
I’m electronically challenged myself but this is one of the easiest sites to navigate through. Keep the recipes coming.
Me too! And I Love the homey stories… Please don’t stop the stories.
ladies, ladies we are trading recipes here not nuclear secrets.
LOL! Oh, Larry, you just said what I cannot because..professionalism.
This is hilarious. Yes Larry, Jessica, no nuclear secrets please. 🙂 There really are some stupid remarks here aren’t there? Even I can find the recipe easily and I am almost computer illiterate. Click on next page as instructed.
The recipe is easy to find, right behind the big red Next Page sign. One click and you’re there!!!
I had Johnny Marzetti in cafeteria @ grade school
(Akron, Ohio). Liked it then, and still do!
I can’t get over the people who bitch and complain. The site is free and So are the recipes. I am almost computer illiterate but even I can scroll down past the story of I don’t want to read it. Get a life and start being more positive in life. It makes life easier when you see the glass half full.
I love all your recipes, especially this one! My printer is not working right now, but I just write them on paper until it’s fixed. Keep them coming! I/we really do enjoy them, love and blessings! <3
Wow, I have never seen anyone especially this many spoiled, lazy and stupid people comment as they have on this site. Like the owner of the site said, no one is forcing you to access the site. Get a gripe and I would personally request you do your bitching somewhere else. This is not even comedic humor! Thank you for your recipe! I look forward to reading more!
That is not Johnny Marzetti. Looks like it would be good, but it ain’t Johnny Marzetti
