A Yule Log was made for Christmas and did I ever have fun making it! The meringue mushrooms are easy and they are so adorable! Sprinkling a little cocoa powder on them takes the snow white away and the contrast with the cake-roll log is perfect. The flavor of the frosting and filling can be changed to whatever flavor *but* the idea is to keep the color brown so that it looks like a log. This is a new tradition that will stay for me because it was not hard and I always thought it would be!
I’m not going to lie, guys and gals. This recipe takes a great deal of time and patience to pull off but if you put your mind to making this yule log you;ll be able to do it and the results will be breathtaking. Imagine showing up to a holiday party with this yummy yule log cake in tow. Your dessert will be the talk of the shindig for sure! In fact, I bet you’ll even hear a few people say, “That’s way to pretty to eat!” But trust me, they’ll get over that concept right quick as this yule log is delicious.
