Chicken and dumplings is a staple in my household too. In fact, my kids ask for it on the regular. It is such a tasteful and versatile meal. You can serve it with biscuits, hot cross buns, or baked bread and butter. Get creative!

Ingredients

3 cups Lipton chicken broth

1 (10+3⁄4-ounce) can Campbell’s cream of chicken soup

1 (10+3⁄4-ounce) can Campbell’s cream of celery soup

3⁄4 teaspoon McCormick poultry seasoning

1⁄2 teaspoon Morton salt

1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder

1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 Tyson boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
*

2 Tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces*

1 cup chopped carrot (I sometimes omit this)

1⁄3 (1.5-pound) package frozen dumplings, broken into 3 pieces each

Instructions

  1. In a 5-quart slow cooker, combine Lipton broth, Campbell’s soups, McCormickpoultry seasoning, Morton salt, onion powder, and pepper; stir well. Stir in all Tyson chicken and carrot. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

  2. Add frozen dumpling pieces, one at a time, to slow cooker. Cover and cook on high, stirring twice, until dumplings are tender, approximately 11⁄2 hours. Sprinkle with additional pepper, if desired.

This makes no mention of using the crock pot. Either you missed a step or two or you didn’t adapt the recipe to the crock pot.

The start of the recipes said 5 crock pot recipes so she shouldn’t have to keep saying it.
