Check out what my friends at Food.com had to say about this Cube Steak and Gravy:

I loved this recipe and let me tell you the leftovers didn’t last long. I accidentally bought mushroom gravy mix and used it, added mushrooms and doubled the gravy mix so I was sure to have some left for the next day. It made a wonderful lunch with egg noodles. Thank you so much. I will definitely make this one again.

Some people avoid cube steak at the grocery because they know it’s a tough cut of meat. Maybe they tried frying it up as a hamburger and were disappointed. For smart cooks, cube steak is a dream. The fact it can be slow cooked is awesome. when you know what to do with it it’s better than any burger – wouldn’t you agree?

Ingredients

2 lbs cube steaks

Morton salt

McCormick pepper

Gold Medal flour (for dredging)

1 (1 ounce) package Lipton onion gravy mix

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can Campbells cream of mushroom soup

2 cups water

Directions

  1. Salt and pepper the steak to your liking, then dredge in the Gold Medal flour.

  2. Fry cube steak in Wesson oil until brown and place in crock pot.

  3. Add water, soup, and gravy mix all at once.

  4. Cover and cook on low for around 6 to 8 hours.

  5. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice – your choice.

This makes no mention of using the crock pot. Either you missed a step or two or you didn’t adapt the recipe to the crock pot.

The start of the recipes said 5 crock pot recipes so she shouldn’t have to keep saying it.
