This garlic herb cheesy bread has been a great success over at Handle the Heat! It has received so many wonderful comments from readers – let’s take a look at what some of them have said about it:
I’m going to quote Macbeth when I say, “Good is bad and bad is good!” I don’t care if this bread is one million calories…it’s too good not to indulge. I love this!
Made this tonight to go with spaghetti and homemade sauce. My bread loaf was big so I had to double the butter herb mixture, but it turned out really well! Husband and sons and I loved it. Will definitely make again!
I’m pretty sure anyone who ever tries making this bread, will make it again soon!
Ingredients
1 crusty sourdough or artisan loaf
4 ounces (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, minced
2 teaspoons fresh thyme, minced
3/4 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Combine the melted butter, garlic, salt, parsley, rosemary, and thyme in a small bowl.
Cut the bread on a diagonal into 1-inch diamonds, being careful not to slice all the way through. Use your fingers to pry open each crack, drizzle with 1 teaspoon of butter and a pinch of the shredded cheese.
Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil. Place on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake for approximately 15 minutes. Carefully remove the foil and continue to bake for another 5 minutes, or until crusty.
