This is such a simple but flavorful recipe. Everyone raves over it every holiday season, and when I bring it to a potluck everyone wants the recipe. If you want to be a hit, this is a sure bet! I have actually used just dark canned cherries as well, and not pie filling. It turns out just as delicious.

Don’t be surprised at how fast it disappears. This is a family favorite, and if I don’t make it at the holidays my kids are pretty upset. I found this out one year when I completely forgot about it because I had several new recipes. Oops! Sorry guys… it won’t happen again.

Ingredients

1 can Libby cherry pie filling (dark)
1 can Dole crushed pineapple, drained
1 can Eagle Brand milk
8 oz. container Cool Whip, thawed
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

  1. Mix ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. Stir well.

  3. Chill several hours.

Why do you not give sizes for canned ingredients? There are several sizes of crushed pineapple for instance.
