My Grandma Would Say, “Be Careful Not To Swallow Your Tongue” Because This Is SO DELICIOUS!

If you have always thought spaghetti is not a very fancy dish – think again! This recipe is going to completely change the way you feel about it. All these incredible flavors; the shrimp, lemon and the mouthwatering seasonings, make this meal fit for a king. I wouldn’t mind serving this to even the finest dinner guests – and I know they certainly wouldn’t mind eating it!

There are plenty of ways to tweak this recipe to your taste. I always add some chili and garlic to the shrimp – it reminds me of a dish I used to have on my vacation in Hawaii, and those flavors take this recipe to a whole new level.

But if you’d prefer a milder dish, this is still going to blow your mind even if you’re not adding chili. Use any kind of pasta noodles for this – I prefer the way this looks with spaghetti so that’s what I usually go for.

Could I Please Have This For Every Meal, For The Rest Of The Year?

Before we get started, I have to say that I’ve never been to Louisiana. It’s one of those places I’ve always dreamed of going, but for one reason or another it hasn’t happened yet. I have plenty of friends, though, who’ve been there more than once – and they all tell me the food is amazing. I bet it really is! And I always try to find recipes that would take me there (without even leaving my kitchen).

Hopefully some day soon I’ll be able to visit Louisiana and enjoy those wonderful meals! Until then, this is one of my favorite recipes that I believe has a very authentic flavor. The key thing is to use good quality seafood!

Some people tell me a good gumbo should be so spicy that your lips are on fire – others say that you’re not supposed to make gumbo too hot and spicy. I’m not sure if there’s a right or wrong but I prefer mine with a little bit of kick! With this recipe, that’s totally up to you.

My family loves rich meals that taste really flavorful. They never shy away from strong-smelling food, most especially my husband. The more flavorful a dish is, the more they will like it.

Usually, we get our flavorful and rich fix from meat like beef and pork. These types of meat already have those natural flavors that you don’t need to season them much just to make them taste good. Even chicken is flavorful, at least the thigh and leg part; which is why it’s our favorite type of meat. Sometimes, we crave for something else other than these three. Usually, it’s seafood like crab, shrimp, and squid.

Speaking of seafood, I have a feeling you and your family are going to love this cheesy seafood casserole recipe. It’s like diving under the sea once you take a bite of this amazing dish. I already made this for my family a lot of times and they still can’t get enough.

The taste of seafood in casseroles is surprisingly incomparable. You have to make sure you have enough when serving this to a large crowd- it will surely be gone in seconds!

Quick Tip: Serve something light, like a fresh green salad, on the side since this is a very rich meal.

Our family had an outing once to this town where they have the the best and freshest seafood. They had this restaurant in the middle of the village where there were aquariums everywhere, full of all types of fish and other creatures of the sea. We got to choose the seafood and the type of recipe and the local chefs would cook them in front of us. Guaranteed fresh and real! We enjoyed it because we got to watch how the locals took pride in cooking their products. Also, my Mom and her sisters got a lot of recipe ideas from the exhibition. We could see the enthusiasm in their faces. When we got back from the trip, we all gathered in my aunt’s house and they made us dinner full of seafood goodness.

As much as I love eating seafood, I don’t cook it much. They need to be prepared in a very particular way or else they will not taste as good. And time combined with thoroughness are not something that I could always afford. Except maybe if it’s casserole because we all know how convenient casseroles are—they make our busy lives so much easier. Just like this casserole recipe that I found which introduces a dish that screams of seafood yet is very convenient to make.

There are always two versions of a recipe—one, the traditional rich version; and the other the modified, healthier version. If we will only choose for flavor, we will always choose the traditional one. The one that uses full cream milk instead of low fat. The one that uses original cream cheese instead of lite. The ones that uses heavy cream instead of just milk. However, we sometimes really need to watch over our health. Living a healthy (okay, maybe not totally!) lifestyle will allow us to enjoy food more. The best way to do this is to eat in moderation. Or find the best alternative dish to the original.

Our family loves to eat. Even the ones who have joined our family by marriage, learned to love food because of our family. Lately some of my uncles have had health issues, so my aunts have had to find new ways to make delicious food that fits their dietary restrictions. My aunts keep recreating dishes that will allow their husbands to still eat great meals without sacrificing their health.

My Grandma Said This Was The Tastiest Soup She Had Ever Tried

Have you been trying to find a new, exotic soup recipe that’ll knock your socks off? Here it is!

This incredible coconut shrimp soup will have you singing its praises after the first spoonful. It is filled with beautiful Asian flavors; that spicy ginger, lovely lemongrass and of course, the coconut to bring it all smoothly and softly together. Whether you like your Asian food on the spicier or the milder side, this is the perfect recipe for you. Just adjust the amounts to your taste and this will become your number one soup recipe in no time!

Look for the Asian aisle in your grocery store to find all the ingredients. If you’re having a hard time finding fresh lemongrass, you can always go with paste. This is a dish that will do beautifully on its own, without any sides (unless you really want to make something), and it will definitely keep you warm on a cold winter day!

About a year ago, my husband and I got the travel bug and wanted to go somewhere. We were not sure what would the best place to go and did not want to spend much money either. We wanted a place where the hotel would be reasonably priced and then we did not have to spend much on things we wanted to do things the place. We wanted a place with good food and that was different. We did not want to go to a place that we already had been to.

So, I did my research and looked for top places to visit in Florida. One of the first that popped up was Mt. Dora, Florida. It seemed like such a cute little town, and we had never even heard of it. So we quickly booked a room in a B&B and headed over. When we arrived, we found a gorgeous small town with lots of little shops and mom and pop restaurants. The owner of the bed and breakfast gave us a suggestion and we went with it. That is when we found Shrimp and Grits on the menu and knew we had to give it a try.
