This Flavorful Meatloaf Recipe Is As Easy As It Gets

Want to hear something funny? Before we had kids, my husband was a picky eater. Well, he didn’t cringe or complain about anything I cooked, but since he can’t even tell a tiny white lie with a straight face, I always knew when he wasn’t particularly fond of the food I was serving. He especially didn’t like meatloaf, but it took me a long time to figure out that was probably my fault.

You see, as a young wife I did not have that much experience in cooking, and I was using the first recipe I happened to get my hands on. I didn’t think it was out of this world, either, but I had no idea how to make it better. Still, I wanted to serve delicious home cooked meals so I started collecting different kinds of recipes and trying them out, one by one, until I hit the jackpot.

I still haven’t found the perfect recipe for some dishes, but I certainly have found one for meatloaf! This super scrumptious one, from Lynn’s Recipes is what we call Daddy’s Favorite these days – my husband and kids are crazy about it! I’m so happy Lynn shared it in her awesome vlog.

A Handful Of Ingredients Is All You Need For The Most Incredible Side EVER

Hi everyone! I have great news for you. I found this awesome channel called PBJVintageCookingVidz2, with really delicious recipes! I have already tried quite a few of them but a couple of days ago I came across this one, and it was so yummy that I just have to share. I swear just talking about it now, makes my mouth water!

It’s a recipe for broccoli with cheddar cheese sauce and believe me, it is to die for. I know it’s considered a side dish but I would be more than happy to eat this, alone, for dinner for the next two weeks or so. Maybe even three.

Granted, whenever there’s cheesy sauce involved it kind of makes you think of your calorie intake… But there’s also broccoli, so in my book this is still considered a healthy dish. If you are, however, watching your figure – you could just halve the sauce ingredients for this amount of broccoli. I guarantee it’s still going to taste amazing!

Warm Yourself Up With A Soup Your Granny Used To Make!

It’s getting cold here up North! With a couple of pretty bad snow storms and below zero temperatures I have been thinking of moving my whole family to the Caribbean islands, or any place where flip flops are the only shoes you’ll ever need. But since it’s virtually impossible to make such a move at this point, I’ve had to settle for easier ways to keep warm.

And, you know, it’s not that bad to enjoy a bowl of hearty soup inside the house, by the fire, and watch the snowfall. Especially when you have a recipe as delicious as this one! It’s a potato soup with cheddar and bacon – very similar to the one my grandmother used to make, and I think it’s perfect for this time of year. Not that you couldn’t eat it in the middle of the summer, too!

Even if you already have a great potato soup recipe, I recommend giving this one a try. It is far better than any other soup I’ve had, and every time I make this my family gobbles it up faster than you could imagine.

Make Ahead And Get Some More ZZZZ In The Morning!

The holidays are my favorite time of year. I love everything about it; the cooler weather, the family gatherings, the last minute shopping trips. But most of all, I love the food and cooking hearty meals for my extended family. Unfortunately, it’s not very often these days that we get to spend time with our favorite cousins, aunts and uncles. So I cherish every moment!

Which is why I like simple dishes that can be prepared ahead, so that I can focus on being with my family but still serve them a really good meal. This country breakfast casserole is a great example.

Eight ingredients is all you need, and a quick 15 minutes to prepare. I like to make this the night before and then just throw it in the oven in the morning. Our guests will wake up to the delicious smell of this casserole baking in the oven, and all you need to do is pour yourself and them a big cup of coffee. How does that sound for Christmas morning?

With two working parents and three kids to get out the door, I feel pretty good on mornings that I remember to slice some banana into my daughter’s cereal.  The boys prefer their waffles wrapped in a paper towel and on the way out the door.

I miss the breakfasts of my childhood, with homemade pancakes and crispy bacon and orange juice that my mom squeezed fresh every morning. I strive to make our weekend breakfasts special and this casserole is everyone’s favorite.

If you’re a meat and potatoes kinda girl (or guy) like myself, this is the recipe for you. Slowly roasted potatoes and sausages bake to perfection in your oven and fill your home with the aroma of home-cooked goodness. Mmm, makes my stomach growl just thinking about it.

I love a good slow cooker recipe. How about you? Nothing beats placing your ingredients into the Crock Pot, setting it, and forgetting it…until it’s time to eat, of course. For a long time, I thought only complete meals could be made in the slow cooker. Never did I ever imagine that the good old Crock is great for side dishes, too.

I enjoy noshing on traditional au gratin potatoes. We usually have them every year at my house for the holidays. However, they can be somewhat of a hassle to make, and they take up room in the oven. I found this awesome slow cooker recipe for Au Gratin potatoes that totally blew my skirt up! This recipe is so simple! It only takes about  3 hours in the Crock Pot to cook.
