If This Isn’t The Most Scrumptious Banana Bread On The Planet, I Don’t Know What Is

I’ve never actually been quite sure if banana bread was dessert, breakfast or just a snack. Trust me – I’ve had it for all of these, but it’s one of those things that I just can’t put my finger on. This recipe changed it all for me. Because this is definitely a dessert in my book. A very delicious one!

This chocolate chip banana bread is taking your usual banana bread to a whole new level of yum. You still get that familiar, sweet flavor of the bananas, but this time it’s combined with the beautifully bittersweet dark chocolate. Unless you decide to go with milk chocolate or white chocolate – because, you know, it’s completely up to you!

I took this a step further and drizzled some caramel sauce on top of the loaf. It was store-bought, so I really didn’t have to go through any extra fuss to do that. Oh, em, gee – so amazing! I bet a scoop of ice cream would also go well with a slice of this yummy bread.

My mother in law is a great baker. She really loves to go all out and make delicious treats for the holidays and anyone’s birthday. She is pretty famous for her ultra special, secret recipe of Hershey’s chocolate cake. It is rich, very chocolatey and totally delicious. I know, there are so many chocolate cakes out there, but hers is truly the best! Everyone always begs her to make it for their birthday and she gladly does.

Another thing that she makes often is a Yule log cake. It is so cool because it is a perfect chocolate cake wrapped so neatly and tightly with a chocolate filling. My gosh, it is beautiful to cut and looks so elegant. Now, I know the holidays are behind us and a Yule log really is not in season anymore, but I want to show you this amazing option! This is a log cake as well, but the filling is green and minty. It is such a refreshing treat. I absolutely love the combination of mint and chocolate, and if you do too, you are going to LOVE this easy to make and super impressive dessert. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed!

About a couple of years ago during the holiday season, Panera Bread debuted a new line of cookies: holiday red velvet crinkle cookies. They were as chocolatey as red velvet can be, filled with lots of white chocolate chips, then crinkled up as they baked and dusted with powdered sugar. They were the perfect combination (and ratios!) of sweet to chocolatey to red for the amazing red velvet! They were quite a hit and we went almost daily to pick up a few of those cookies and bring them home.

Fast forward a year or two and they do not serve them anymore. I guess we were the only faithful customers for those amazing red velvet cookies. So, I decided we had to do something about it. Instead of complaining to Panera Bread, we decided we would make them at home. We realized they were super easy to make with just a couple of other ingredients besides a boxed cake mix and we had great cookies in the end. So, with that great experience, I decided to play around with other flavors. I discovered that chocolate crinkle cookies taste just as great, and look even better than the red velvet.

Man, I have learned to love a good brownie. I have always been a cookie fan myself, but my husband is a die-hard brownie guy. He loves a good piece of cakey chocolate to lift his mood or give him the energy he needs to get through his day. With a good piece of chocolate, he is often awake enough to help me do anything around the house. (Do not tell him, let’s keep this as a little secret between us, but I make him brownies so he feels awake and then gets around to the to-do list that is always sitting there. Haha!)

Having a yummy afternoon treat is always something delicious and special that I love to have for my husband when he gets home from work, or siblings when they come over to spend the afternoon or night with us. It is just the perfect housewarming treat for when someone arrives. This recipe is one that will truly impress your guests. They will never know that the brownies can be made with boxed mix and you just threw some marshmallows over into it to make them yummier. No way, these look totally impressive and delicious and your guests will be begging you for more!

Do you love brownies? I am not that big of a fan. It does not mean that I hate brownies or will not eat them, I will just never choose them over a different dessert. I prefer to enjoy chocolate in the form of cookies, or cake – not brownies. But, when I met my husband I knew that was going to change. He is obsessed with brownies! He loves them plain, with peanut butter, marshmallows, or anything else on top. Any way you prepare them, he will eat them.

Recently, he asked me to try a new way to make them. I wasn’t sure what he meant. I was pretty sure I had tried everything and even exhausted my options. But, as usual, I took a little trip on Pinterest and found something original. It was an Andes mint chocolate chip brownies recipe. It looked pretty cool and had lots of mint chocolate over the top. My husband loves mint chocolate so I knew it would likely be a hit. I downloaded the recipe, bought the ingredients, and decided to give it a go. And sure enough, it did not disappoint. My husband was absolutely thrilled with the results of these brownies!

You Won’t Believe How Delicious This Cake Turns Out!

No, I am not kidding. It’s totally possible to make this outstanding chocolate cake without a single egg or any dairy products. And no, it won’t turn out dry or tasteless or whatever you think vegan friendly cakes taste like! In fact, I would go as far as saying this is one of the most delicious chocolate cakes I’ve ever had. That icing alone is to die for – and yes, you can make that without butter, too!

This cake is surprisingly easy to make! With a quick 15 minutes of prep time you’ll have it in the oven, baking for 30 minutes and then you just cover it with the frosting. The most difficult part of this recipe is waiting for the frosting to set before you cut the cake and eat it all! You may want to invite your friends over, unless you’re willing to put yourself through the test with your self control. I may or may not have eaten half of this by myself, but let’s not get into that.
