We Cracked The Code! This Is The Most Amazing Way To Cook Roast Beef

I had an awesome roast beef recipe that I used to make for Sunday supper, once a month. It was a recipe my aunt gave me years ago; she said she had found it in an old cook book and thought it was scrumptious. And it really was – I thought it was the best EVER and there’s no way anything could ever top that one. But then our neighbors invited us over for dinner.

Kristen, my neighbor, had made roast beef with baked potatoes and as soon as we stepped in, the aromas nearly swept me off my feet. I asked her if she had a family recipe for it but she kind of just shrugged and said; “No, I just found this one online.”

The meal was out-of-this-world amazing and I’m not even ashamed to say I forced her to give me the recipe immediately. She was more than happy to do so and, of course, I immediately saved it in my stash of favorites when I got back home.

I am not a big beer drinker but I LOVE cooking with the stuff. Guinness is one of the best brews to cook with because of it’s bold and robust flavor. The beer makes this brisket taste amazing. I definitely do not recommend using a light beer in this recipe as you want something that is stout and brazen. Every time I make this recipe my husband and kids devour it like nobody’s business. It’s insanely easy to make and tastes wonderful. It’s the perfect meal for picnics!

What is brisket, exactly? It is one of the tougher cuts of beef, found on the lower front chest of the cow. Apparently cows do not have a collar bone, and so this region carries 60% of the load when the animal is walking or standing. That means well-developed muscles, which = leaner, potentially tougher meat. The ‘flat cut’ of brisket is especially the leanest cut of brisket (as opposed to the ‘point cut’) and so needs a slow-cooking method like a crock pot to give it time to break down the tough fibers. I think that’s why this recipe works so well. All the aforementioned flavors have all day long to get denser and richer, while the meat gets more and more tender. If your store doesn’t have brisket out in the meat case, track down the resident butcher and ask for it. Or consider a piece labeled ‘pot roast’ which is also often used as a brisket. – Juggling With Julia

Jumpin’ Jehosaphat! Is this Irish coffee soda float recipe ever good! It gives the “Luck of the Irish” a whole new meaning. We agree, the Irish sure are lucky people if this is the type of dessert drinks that get to go around sippin’ on. With just the right amount of coffee, a splash of soda, and a dollop of ice cream, it’s like a party in a glass.

Make sure when you’re enjoying your drink that you don’t get soda foam on your sniffer. This happens to our grandad every time! Luckily, he’s a very good sport and allows grandma to lick it off. The joys of being enjoying dessert with your family. Why don’t you whip up a batch of this famous Irish coffee soda float for you and your family and let the good times roll!
