I Never Knew It Could Be This Delicious To Shed A Few Pounds!

I enjoy spending time at church events; especially if it’s a potluck-type of thing, haha! Not that I wouldn’t enjoy going to church events, anyway, but every time there is food involved, I’m definitely there. The holiday cookie exchange is always a massive success, but I’m looking forward to our annual winter soup potluck. You wouldn’t believe how many great recipes I’ve gathered from there, over the years.

This cabbage soup is one of them, and it fits my post-Christmas mood perfectly. Sometimes I wonder why it is so hard for me to try and resist all the incredible desserts (and chocolate!) over the holidays. It’s virtually impossible – but at least I have this recipe to turn to, when the chocolate season is over!

I have worked my way back to my old jeans with the help of this soup, more often than I would like to admit. But it’s not just for those of us who like to watch our figure – by adding some chicken or ham I’ve served this as a hearty dinner for my family, and they all love it!

My Husband’s Number 1 Favorite Recipe!

If you’re looking for the best brisket ever, you’ve come to the right place! I haven’t needed another recipe ever since the first time I tried making it this way. I love the barbecue flavors, I love how tender the meat is – and most of all, I love how simple this is to make. It takes very little prep work and then all you need is some patience, while your oven is doing the rest of the work for you!

Sometimes I like to add chopped veggies to the same roasting pan, a while before the brisket is done. This way I can get a full meal in one pan, with only a few minutes of extra prep. But most of the times we love to enjoy this brisket on sandwich buns. Drizzle with some hot sauce or garlic sauce – so scrumptious!

This is a great make ahead dish for a larger crowd. I’ve made this for game nights and all kinds of family gatherings. If you’re looking for an easy way to make a whole week’s lunch for the kids – this is it! According to my teenager, this makes “the BEST lunch sandwiches EVER”.

The Recipe Your Neighbor Is Trying To Keep A Secret

Here’s a recipe that’ll make you feel like a true cowboy, or cowgirl! Perfect for the chilly, dreary days and guaranteed to keep you warm, no matter what the season. You’ll be surprised to hear that this hearty chili is super lean and great for anyone who likes to watch their figure. This recipe makes 8 nice and filling servings, but you can easily make a double batch for a larger crowd.

Besides being lean, this chili is incredibly easy to make. Just brown the beef, onions and bell pepper, then throw in all the remaining ingredients and let it simmer on the stove until all those beautiful aromas fill up your whole house.

There are a couple of very surprising ingredients in this recipe, that I had never even thought of using in chili. But I believe those ingredients are exactly what set this chili above anything else I’ve tried before. This is simply mouthwatering, and it’s impossible to settle for one serving only!

Quick Tip: Instead of lean ground beef, add leftover shredded chicken to this chili.

What? No Beans??

Are you a chili fan? I know that my family and I certainly are. We can eat chili any time of the year and by that, I mean during the Dog Days of summer. Chili is just one of those go-to foods that you make when you don’t know what else to make. I typically have all of the ingredients for chili in my freezer and pantry, at all times. I love making meals that do not require me to go to the grocery store. This chili is a different kind of chili in that it is Texas-themed.

For those of you who do not quite understand what a Texas bowl of chili looks like well, it does not contain any beans. I know, I know, I was shocked and amazed myself. I thought, “Now, how on earth can a beanless chili taste good?!”

Well, folks, it does taste good. With all of the other yummy ingredients mixed into this chili, you don’t even notice the absence of the beans. So, make this chili and enjoy!

Quick Tip: If you find that you made the chili a tad too spicy simply add a few tablespoons of honey to the mix to balance the bite a bit.

I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely LOVE taco salad! Whenever I go to a party or picnic and I need to bring a dish to pass, I always whip up a batch of this Mexican-inspired treat. The taco chips, spicy ground beef, veggies, and cheese send my taste buds on an escapade of flavor.

This recipe for taco salad is a bit different than the usual as it contains crema. Crema is an authentic Mexican sauce that is comparable to sour cream, but better! I love how it ups the ante on this already amazing side dish. This taco salad is deeply packed with crisp lettuce, seasoned beef, cheese, juicy tomatoes, and so much more. Seriously folks, you’re going to love this!

Quick Tip: If you haven’t any crema on hand, feel free to substitute with sour cream.

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, brown sugar, Bush's black beans, Cargill ground beef, cayenne, chili, chili powder, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, Cumin, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hunt's tomato sauce, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Oregano, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, pinto beans, Powdered sugar, recipe, Sargento, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

I like to plan ahead when it comes to meal planning.  One of my favorite ways to do that is to make a big batch of a recipe and freeze it for later.  The great thing about doing this is that I have recipes stocked in the fridge for any busy day that I can quickly heat up for my family.  The downside, of course, is that the same meal can get old if we’ve had several busy nights in a row.

This chili recipe is PERFECT for preventing leftover burnout.  On day 1, have the chili straight from the bowl.  On day two, add some lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and other favorite toppings to make taco salad.  One day 3, use the same ingredients but build nachos as your meal.  So versatile, all using similar ingredients, but in different proportions.

Quick Tip – To store, spoon 3 cups into a gallon size freezer bag and place flat in the freezer.  Once frozen, you can turn the bag upright to take up less space.
