This recipe dates all the way back to WWII, but is still loved as much today, as it was back then.  It’s also twice as tasty!

I remember when my parents would serve me this dish, and whether some think this is a plate on the “cheaper” side, I absolutely adored it. The salty tang of the beef, and the delectable creamy sauce mixed in, makes my mouth water even thinking about it. I still miss my parents and everything they did for me, but every time I taste this dish, it brings me right back!

The creamy sauce is similar in taste to a béchamel, and this recipe keeps quite well, as it calls for dried beef (also known as chipped beef). When it’s covered in the heavenly sauce, it makes for an irresistible dish, that even your great grandma can enjoy! Obviously, this recipe can be ready in a matter of minutes, and serves up as much beef as you can eat! I guarantee once you try this dish, you’ll be making it ever weeknight you need to prepare something quickly!

A savory seasonal roll that is bursting with the flavors of fall.  Moist and springy pumpkin bread, rolled up with sugared cream cheese, makes for a spicy holiday loaf with a tang. The total time from prep to cooling is a mere 75 minutes, and by then, your kitchen will be wafting with the rich scent of pumpkin.  After baking, the cream cheese takes on a cheesecake consistency, sweetly tucked away in the folds of the springy bread. With a little added yogurt to the batter, the bread stays moist and fluffy. This seasonal treat is hard to pass up! Let’s hear what Averie says about this recipe:

It’s an easy, no mixer recipe that goes from bowl to oven in minutes. I used melted coconut oil so there’s no butter to cream and no mixer to dirty. Oil keeps bread softer and springier than butter, and I prefer the taste. Coconut oil adds a nearly imperceptible undertone that’s sweeter and more fragrant than canola or vegetable oil, but substitute with them if you’d like.

Just 15 minutes of basic cooking, a little prep, 20 minutes of baking, and you can have this Quinoa Banana Nut Bread ready. And with a good helping of essential vitamins, fiber, and protein, this dessert isn’t just good but also surprisingly good for you. I have always enjoyed banana nut bread (rare is the time I’ve passed up getting some of it when I happen to pass by it at Kroger), but I can’t say that I have tried a healthy, gluten-free banana nut bread recipe before now. Well, I give this two yums up, and as easy as it is to make, I’m sure it will be making plenty more appearances in my kitchen in the future.

I have several friends with celiac disease and sometimes it’s difficult to find a nice gluten-free recipe. I always want to serve something delicious, and many of those gluten-free dessert have seemed a bit on the dry side. This banana bread is such a wonderful exception!

Are You Ready To Sample Some Of This Incredible Dessert?

Bread pudding is a classic dessert that can best be described as simple but elegant. This Bread Pudding With Whiskey Sauce recipe includes options for lightening things up a bit while still bringing the great flavor.

My great-grandmother, whom I called Granny and whom Dad called Mama, made a fantastic bread pudding with a whiskey sauce that practically made a dessert by itself. Alas, Granny closely guarded her recipes, and it was lost. I was happy to stumble upon this recipe and indulge in a little nostalgia. Though I can’t say that the recipe is exactly the same, it is similar, and I think that even Granny would have agreed that it is really tasty.

Of course, if you prefer making the sauce without the whiskey, this will still turn out delightful. But I would highly recommend giving it a try! I am definitely not a fan of whiskey but it makes this dessert super flavorful.

This Maple Bacon Monkey Bread is a bit on the daring side, but with the right ingredients, a bit of a savory addition to a sweet treat can turn out brilliantly. It’s a surprisingly fast and easy recipe that will soon become the favorite of your whole family. When I say that everything is better with bacon, I normally make an exception for dessert items. But I am one to try anything at least once (I was the ten-year-old who never needed a kid’s menu to find something I’d eat at a nice restaurant), and this… well, it works.

Needless to say, if I’d had this as a breakfast item back in the day, I’d have eaten breakfast a lot more than I actually did. That’s why I try to make this delicious breakfast for my kids at least a few times a month.

I know it is a bit sugary but if you substitute the sugar with stevia baking blend there is no negative impact on your glycemic index. Genius!

It may not be as famous as the Po’Boy, but this New Orleans Muffuletta Sandwich is just as yummy and just as quintessentially Big Easy.  You certainly won’t go hungry munching on this!

I imagine I was a bit spoiled for food choices, living so close to New Orleans for so long.  I took delicious Big Easy-style cuisine, including great sandwiches like the muffuletta, so for granted, it took my moving away for a while to appreciate just how great that it is.  The muffuletta sandwich was actually invented back in the early 20th century by The Central Grocery, located in the famous French Quarter, as a means of feeding VERY hungry Sicilian farmers selling their wares in the French Market.  Since then, this hearty sandwich has become a New Orleans signature dish, and you can have all of that great flavor in the comfort of your own home thanks to this recipe.
