Forget Starbucks – This Homemade Bread Will Carry You Into The Clouds

There was a time when I used to think applesauce bread was a mandatory item at the holiday dinner table. Don’t get me wrong – I still think it’s delicious. But after my mother mentioned this recipe, it changed my life. You think I’m being over-dramatic? Well, you haven’t tasted this cranberry bliss bread yet.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying a Starbucks cranberry bliss bar, you may have an idea of how awesome this recipe is. I mean, you get the same, incredible flavors – but a whole loaf of them!

They say the holidays are about sharing, but I kind of don’t feel like sharing a single piece of this loaf. I think I’m just going to make 2, right away. One for the guests and one, all for me! The bread itself is super juicy and tasty on its own, but when you cover it with frosting, decorate with craisins and drizzle with white chocolate? It. Is. To. Die. For. It doesn’t matter how many helpings you got at dinner, there’s always room for a slice of this!

Quick Tip: You serve the bread without the frosting to make it lighter – but who would want to do that?

I Could Eat That Praline Topping With A Spoon!

I will never forget Thanksgiving dinners at our house, as they were quite the extravagant event while I was growing up.

We had so many family members and friends packed into our house for hours and hours. People would always stay for lunch and dinner, both. My favorite part of this food fest were the incredible desserts, and there were always many. I especially loved the pumpkin pie! My mom would make the best one on the planet. She always served hers with some whipped cream and each slice was better than the next.

The other day I was browsing my friends’ Facebook pages for some pumpkin pie recipes that might differ from the classic versions. I came across this adorable pumpkin pie with pecan praline topping, and I couldn’t be happier! This pie looks so stunning. And guess what? It tastes like a dream come true. Have you tried this version of pumpkin pie yet?

Quick Tip: Add lots of whipped cream to this pie or eat it with ice cream. Both are equally yummy.

How To WOW Your Dinner Guests

First off, don’t let the long list of ingredients scare you. I was determined to make this knowing it featured both bananas foster flavors and caramel – what could be more tempting? Plus I find, as I am moving along in the kitchen I enjoy gathering the ingredients and mixing them up. I put on some country music and sing as I go. Cooking can be a great adventure or a solitary escape.

Honestly the cake was quite easy and so good I couldn’t stop eating it. You may want to plan for this and have it be your breakfast, lunch and dinner all in one. I’m actually glad I had my husband and our friends to share or else I would have easily eaten it all! When the knife went through that first slice it was like butter, so soft and welcoming!

This is a cake that is fancy enough for any occasion, but I still love making this on a regular weeknight, as well. Dig in and enjoy every single bite – you deserve it!

You May Want To Keep The Whole Pie To Yourself

Have you ever heard of chess pie? No, it’s not a pie crust filled with Velveeta or slices of waxy cheese.

It’s a heavenly dish filled with fluffy mixed eggs, sugar, milk, flour, and cornmeal. I also said “chess” not “cheese” hehehe! This pie is truly something special and you gotta try it as soon as possible. In my opinion, chess pie is a checkmate! Even my children liked it and they typically do not care for new things. When I said “chess pie” to them my youngest replied, “checkers?” LOL!

One of the greatest things about this chess pie is how easy it is to make. You simply whip the ingredients together and bake it in the oven for x-amount of time and there you have it! Total yumminess! I am in love with this pie and will continue to make it time and time again. Are you ready to make my favorite recipe? Let’s get to it!

This Simple Southern Comfort Food Is All You Need To Make Your Family Happy

Ladies and gentlemen, what you’re about to witness may be the very best chicken and dumplings recipe ever known to man. My family sure is crazy about it, and so is everyone else that ever happens to come by when we’re having this classic comfort dish! I always make a double batch – I know people are going to want seconds (or even thirds), and I’d like to have some leftovers for the next day, too!

I believe this recipe is very close to the one my late grandmother always made. Unfortunately, her recipe has gotten lost over the years but my mother agrees with me that this is as close to her old recipe as it gets. And we all know that old-fashioned recipes are always the tastiest, don’t we?

I cannot imagine a better way to warm up after a day outside in the chilly weather, than a big serving of chicken and dumplings. There is something so very cozy and comforting about it! And with a recipe like this one, you will double the pleasure.

This Will Make Your Taste Buds Do A Happy Dance!

I never would have thought some day I’d be able to make a cake roll (or a Swiss roll, as some call it) that was better than the ones my grandmother made. When it comes to this type of dessert, her skills were out of this world. I guess it’s because back when she learned to bake, there weren’t that many fancy ingredients available and you had to make do with what you had at hand.

Grandma certainly knew how to turn the simplest of ingredients into something totally amazing. She was famous for her cake rolls and I still don’t know how I was never available to get that same flavor, even when I was using one of her recipes. I guess she always added a pinch of magic in the batter, too!

But last week my neighbor gave me this recipe for a cake roll and there was an ingredient I hadn’t thought of using to make this dessert. I mean, buttermilk?? I had my doubts about it but my neighbor assured me it was delightful.

Even The Pickiest Of Taste Buds Will Love This Mouthwatering Cake

My grandmother was an excellent baker. Back when she was a child, times were tough and every girl had to learn basic cooking and baking skills at a very young age. I remember how she told me stories about how they didn’t have much; no special food ingredients, no fancy spices and not even electricity until she got a little older. She continued using simple ingredients through her whole life, but somehow everything she baked still turned out absolutely delightful.

This simple recipe made me think of my grandmother. She used to make a similar sheet cake but unfortunately her recipe has gotten lost over the years. I was so excited to give this one a try!

When it was finally ready and cooled enough to cut into pieces, I grabbed one and almost swallowed it whole. There was something so beautifully familiar about the flavor that it brought a tear to my eye. I have a feeling I’m going to be making this cake very often!
