How many of you have a staple recipe that is served during all holiday dinners?

For my family, that recipe would be scalloped potatoes. We all love them! My grandma, God rest her soul, was famous (at least in our family) for making some of the best scalloped potatoes this side of the Mississippi. Her spuds always tasted amazing and came out of the oven with that golden brown crust on top that made your mouth water. I think grandma would be proud of the following recipe for scalloped potatoes.

Now, my granny never put cheese in her scalloped potatoes so adding that simple ingredient to the recipe is taking a risk. my family is very picky about their taters. I think they will love them 🙂

I bet you are just dying to get the details on this delightful recipe, aren’t you? Wait no longer and mosey on over to the next page for a complete list of ingredients and instructions. Happy cooking!

You’ve never had pasta salad quite like this before!

I love making new recipes for my family. Yes, we have a few staple recipes that stay on the monthly meal rotation schedule like lasagna, tomato soup and grilled cheese, and of course, pot roast. However, I like to change it up a bit with things like this BBQ pasta salad. This salad makes the perfect side dish for just about any meat entree. My husband and I prefer to enjoy it with BBQ ribs or chicken breast.

BBQ pasta salad is a unique recipe that I found over on one of my fave food blogs, Making Memories With Your Kids.

Not a zucchini fan? You will be after you try this delicious casserole!

As a little girl, I was never very fond of zucchini. Why? Because my mama put it in EVERYTHING. She always planted about one million zucchini plants in our garden each year. Seriously, we always had an overabundance of gigantic zucchinis lying around. The only thing I really enjoyed was her chocolate chip zucchini bread…until now. Mom made a delicious zucchini casserole the other night and it was spectacular.

mom said she couldn’t take all of the credit for her cooking though as she found the recipe over on the Making Memories With Your Kids blog.

Serve As a Side Dish Or Turn Into a Warm Meal!

I have a special cooking philosophy; the faster and easier, the better. It has gotten me through all these years and I intend to follow it for as long as I shall live, haha!

Oh well, I do make more complicated meals occasionally but when you’re trying to serve home cooked meals for your husband and kids every single day (on top of working, five days a week) it is definitely a rare occasion. This recipe, however, is one of my favorites and it’s a massive hit, every time I make it.

What I love about this is that this makes a wonderful, cold pasta salad for your BBQ or just a really nice side dish on a weeknight. But if you want to, you can easily turn this into a warm meal! I actually call this the healthy mac and cheese when I do that.

If you choose whole grain pasta for this and add some of your favorite veggies (sometimes I do like to add red pepper), you could basically call this a diet meal! Well, maybe not, but it’s definitely delicious.
