I Could Never Get Tired Of This Scrumptious Salad!

For the past couple of days I’ve felt like I’ve eaten enough for a whole month. I know; it’s the holidays but I have been stuffing my face with more food and candy than anyone could ever imagine. So, for the next few weeks I am only going to have salads and soups, to get back to normal again. I already started with this garlicky orange kale salad.

I have to tell you, I am so glad I tried this recipe! My sister-in-law had made this and she said it was out of this world. I gotta tell ya, she wasn’t exaggerating.

And that incredible dressing? Oh em gee. I am going to have it with all of my salads, from now on! The orange brings in a whole new flavor I hadn’t even thought of using in salads before. I cannot wait to make this again!

So Scrumptious, You’ll Want To Eat This With A Spoon

Last year I did something awesome. It may not seem like that big of a deal to others, and I certainly didn’t know at the time that it was going to rock my world. What I did was – I made eggplant dip for the first time in my life. I had never even thought of using eggplant this way, and I had my doubts about how it would turn out.

Somehow I wanted to give it a try, anyway, and it turned out better than any dip I had ever tried before! So it quickly became a staple at every game night and potluck I attended since.

It’s amazing how beautifully creamy this looks and tastes like, even though it is vegan and doesn’t have a bit of cream in it. I know the word “vegan” may scare off some people, but please, give this one a try! You may never go back to your old, sour cream/mayo/cheese dip recipe again.

This dip is also easy to prepare and you won’t have to chop anything. In fact, you could throw all the ingredients in a food processor to make it even easier!

Who can resist the aroma of freshly baked bread? People without a sense of smell.

I am a huge bread lover.  I mean, I eat bread with every meal in many different forms.  It may be as a classic bread loaf, little rolls, garlic knots, buns for burgers, or cracker form. Whatever it may be, I have some sort of bread with me at the table.  I just cannot pass up a good basket of bread that is full of delicious butter or garlic or oil.  I always have multiple types of bread on hand.  For example, right now I have sliced bread, pita bread and garlic knots in my fridge.  Yep, I am totally stocked.

Since I love bread so much, I thought it would be a good idea to learn to make my own.  I know bread can be a little complicated, and even somewhat annoying sometimes, but I figured if I love it so much and eat it daily, I might as well go through the trouble of learning.

I decided to start off with the easy stuff, such as no yeast rolls or Dutch oven bread.  Both were simple and quite delicious and then I ran into this recipe.  It is the perfect on the go recipe to have stocked up in your pantry and you will love the taste!

This dip goes great with crackers, chips, or pretzels.

My goodness, a good dip on a Super Bowl Sunday is what I live for.  You know what I mean, don’t you?  A huge bowl of dip with crackers or chips right out of the bag.  But the key to this is having more than one bag of chips because you will load it up on this the whole evening!  It is full of salmon goodness with loads of mayo, spices and well, all the goods.  This one is so delicious, it is a hit in my family.  This is all they ask for at all times, whether football is on TV or not.

Well, this dip is unlike any other there are out there.  Everyone usually makes spinach artichoke dips, or brie and apricot dip, or maybe some sort of cheesy meat dip.  Oh, and there are always Mexican dips!  Well, let me tell you friends, this is the dip of your dreams.

Full of salmon, lots of delicious flavors and all, I make this by the pound.  Oh, and I keep a batch in my freezer at all times, full of deliciousness and keep myself stocked on chips, bread and soda crackers for this dip.  It is just that good!

Even The Picky Eaters Will Be Fighting Over The Last One!

When I was growing up, we never used to have hot and spicy food at home. I guess my parents were used to milder, traditional dishes and they weren’t big fans of spicy flavors. I never really thought I would like spicy food, either – my cousin made me try plain hot sauce when I was about 8 years old and I thought, that was it. I didn’t want to have anything to do with spicy flavors after that!

It wasn’t until I was about 20 when my boyfriend, now husband, lured me into having some spicy food. He was smart enough not to scare me with a bunch of extra hot chili – he just made me a dish he thought had a little bit of heat in it but not too much to make me cough.

Things have changed a lot since then! These days whenever we get takeout, I choose the spiciest option there is – and probably still drizzle some Sriracha on top of my serving at home. I’m always trying to find new dishes I could try; like these super delicious stuffed jalapenos from Hilah Cooking. These are amazing!

Brightly colored cranberry relish that’s only 3 ingredients.

Can you really beat a 3-ingredient cranberry relish recipe that looks as pretty as this? I love how red this relish is and it tastes uh-mazing! The oranges and cranberries work so well together. And get this, I didn’t want to use sugar so I replaced it with stevia and it sweetened it up nicely!

Now, my husband and kiddos didn’t much care for this relish but then again they aren’t big eaters on this type of salad, however, everyone else really loved it during Thanksgiving. I’ll definitely be making this again for Christmas.

I’m super excited that I came across this recipe over on the Simply Southern Mom Blog! If you’d like to get the details on how to make this wonderful recipe please hop on over to the next page for a complete list of ingredients and instructions. Enjoy!

A Lazy Cook’s Dream Appetizer Recipe!

A few weeks ago my sister asked me to help her out with the preparations for her upcoming get-together. A group of parents from her kids’ school had decided to organize a charity event, and my sister had invited everyone over for a casual meeting. She didn’t want to go overboard with the food so we decided to look for recipes that are both, inexpensive and easy to make.

I told her I had this incredibly easy dip recipe that I got from a lady at church, and when my sister heard it was for French onion dip – and only three ingredients, she immediately said: “We’re having it, for sure!”

I was glad she chose this one because I knew it would be easy to double or even triple, if needed. The French onion flavor also goes together with a variety of different sides; I have served this dip with vegetable sticks, crackers and chips. One time I even used this as a spread when I was making sandwiches; they turned out awesome!
