Have you ever gotten your hands on an old cookbook and checked out some of the recipes?

I love looking through my grandmother’s cookbooks from back in the day. People seemed to eat so differently during the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Lots of home cooked meals, no preservatives, and very wholesome ingredients. I wish our society was more like that today! That’s why this recipe for old-fashioned pumpkin applesauce bread caught my eye.

It’s something my grandma used to make and I absolutely loved it! The thing about vintage recipes is that they are generally simple, just like this pumpkin applesauce bread recipe. There’s nothing weird in it and you can certainly pronounce all of the ingredients. That’s always a good thing!

I mean, just look at the back of food packages these days and see if you can pronounce or identify even half of the ingredients listed. It’s crazy! Anyway, I know you and your family will enjoy this moist, sweet bread 🙂

I love pumpkin flavored everything and I’m always sad when the season ends, and it’s Christmas time and flavors change.

I love pumpkin lattes, salted caramel, apple cinnamon and more. I dive right into the fall recipes with fervor and cook, bake, boil and fry away happily as the leaves begin to change color and drift outside my window. It’s simply lovely! Get on your boots and hoodie and head out to the farm to get some fresh apples and of course a pumpkin for this recipe! You can also get canned pumpkin, it’ll still be amazing! I like to stock up on canned pumpkin and keep it on hand because you can even put it in your coffee! Trust me it’s phenomenal.

These doughnut muffins make a great snack or breakfast to grab and go during a busy week. They are super moist and full of all your favorite fall flavors.

I don’t care what anyone says; to me, every season is pumpkin season!

I just can’t get enough of it and that’s why I probably make my friends and family sick (or at least a little bored) with all of my pumpkin-flavored dishes. It’s such a versatile ingredient! It doesn’t really matter if you’re looking for a recipe for dinner or dessert – if pumpkin is involved, you’ll definitely find something.

This one is something I had never made or even tasted before. I don’t even know how that’s possible, since I’ve made so many different cobblers lately. But I had never tried a pumpkin cobbler so it was about time! The recipe was so simple it only took me a few minutes to prepare. I almost want to call this a dump and bake recipe, but since you do need to slightly beat the eggs first, I guess it wouldn’t qualify for a dump cake!

This is probably the sappiest story that I will ever write, but it’s true—pumpkin pancakes saved my heart.

It happened a few days ago, when my boyfriend’s parents suddenly decided to pay their second-to-the-youngest son and her weird girlfriend a visit for the first time. I was panicking. It was the first time that I would get to meet them in person, and my boyfriend wouldn’t be home until the next day because of work. I was the only one there to face the firing squad. I meant the hungry squad. Fortunately, even though there was that little tension, they were really kind. His mom was very sweet and very warm southern and his dad has the heartiest, friendliest laugh. Still, I felt like I was being observed in silence.

We had a nice afternoon. His mom told me a lot of embarrassing childhood stories about him, which was a must-tell whenever you meet your son’s “other half” and we had a bit of a kitchen talk. His Mom insisted to cook dinner for us and I allowed her. She taught me a few things that blew me away. That night, with a serious tone, she asked if I could cook breakfast for all of us. I agreed, of course, and spent the whole night thinking about what to prepare.

I felt like it was a test; if I could feed his son and her future grandchildren. Mom saved me by telling me to make simple pancakes for breakfast, but with a twist. It was then that I remembered how his mother loved pumpkins. The next day, when my boyfriend finally joined us for breakfast, I swear she was extra warm towards me. I even received a warm hug before they left. I swear it was those fluffy moist pancakes that saved the day!

Such a sweet treat for the holidays. These cookies bring back so many memories.

When I was a little girl our church would host an annual Christmas program. After the program, everyone would gather in the foyer for refreshments. There were always plates upon plates of cookies. Peanut butter cup cookies were always there and they were usually made by my mother.

Even though I had been sampling them all day while mom was making them they were always the first cookie I’d grab after the program. I LOVED mom’s peanut butter cup cookies and I still do.

This year, I’ll be making these yummy cookies for myself and taking them to my church’s cookie exchange.

Anyway, I bet you are biting at the bit to get the details of this amazing recipe, right? Without further ado, please hop on over to the next page for the ingredients and instructions. Enjoy!

Every crevice is filled with savory herbs, charming cheese, and butter.

Seriously, does that not sound absolutely heavenly? My husband and kiddos LOVE these sliced and baked potatoes. We get creative with our seasonings that we use. Sometimes, each kid will season their potato according to their own tastes. The kiddos really enjoy doing this and so do I.

My husband had suggested that we try using Old Bay Seasoning and I thought that sounded super good. So, I sprinkled some on the sliced taters in addition to some other spices. Wow! Did those potatoes come out tasting good! I think a little pinch of fresh garlic would be swell as well 🙂

What will you be putting on yours?

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, blueberry pie, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, double crust, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, fisher nuts, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

Ripe and bulbous blueberries fill this pie to the brim with sweet flavor.

I am a sucker for fruit pies; my family not so much. However, when I made this double-crust blueberry pie both my husband and children gobbled it right up.

It could have been the fact that I used fresh blueberries from an Amish farm down the road from our house or that my double-crust was homemade. Whatever the reason, the fam has asked me to make another one of these blueberry pies for Thanksgiving dinner. I think that sounds like a lovely idea.

This pie is relatively easy to make and everyone who eats it is sure to bask in its goodness for hours to come.

Anyway, I bet you are biting at the bit to get the details of this amazing recipe, right? Without further ado, please hop on over to the next page for the ingredients and instructions. Enjoy!
