Sponge Cake So Good You’ll Forget Your Manners
I never thought I would say this but I think I finally have a sponge cake recipe that is better than my mother’s! She has been famous for her incredible sponge cake for as long as I can remember, and for a good reason. Let me tell you, that cake is so delightful, people have tried to buy the recipe from her! She said she’d never sell it, she’s only going to share it with her family and friends.
And because I respect her wishes I won’t be sharing her recipe today. Instead I’m sharing this one – I guess it’s not fair to say this is better than my mother’s since this isn’t a traditional sponge cake. Maybe I should say this is equally delicious, just different!
I never would have thought of adding this ingredient but fortunately I overhead a lady talking about a special sponge cake, at the church potluck. Of course I raced over, curious about this cake, and I found out they had added white chocolate to it!
