Have you ever heard the phrase, “If it ain’t broken don’t fix it?”
Well, folks, that is the case that I found myself in a few weeks ago. You see, I am convinced that my mother makes the best peanut butter pie on the planet. I’ve tried many variations of the nutty, creamy goodness in a flaky pie shell and none of them have ever compared to mamas. My mom’s peanut butter pie is made with cream cheese, which I absolutely love because it gives the pie a truly rich flavor and texture.
Now, as I said, I found myself in a predicament a few weeks ago because I was faced with a new peanut butter pie recipe that actually looked really intriguing. Do I try it? Isn’t my mom’s PB pie the best? Oh, what to do!
Well, I ended up trying this peanut butter pie recipe and I am VERY glad that I did. This particular recipe calls for buttermilk and let me tell ya, what an awesome addition! Now, don’t get me wrong, my mother’s pie still ranks first on my list but this peanut butter buttermilk pie comes in at a close second. Enjoy!

Quick Tip: You can try to freeze this pie if you need to but take note that cream pies often separate from the crust when frozen.
