Are you looking for a meal that your kids won’t grumble about? If so, hot dog ‘n’ bean casserole is the way to go. We like to make this casserole with and without cheese, it just depends on our moods. The picture you see is my famous beans and weiners casserole served without cheese.
My kids loved this supper! It was wholesome, hearty, and even had some health benefits to it with the addition of the vegetarian beans. I will definitely be making this dish again.
Ingredients
1 pound Ball Park hot dogs, sliced into 1/4-inch diagonal slices
2 (14-ounce) cans Bush’s vegetarian baked beans, drained
2 tablespoons Domino light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Heinz ketchup
1 cup (4 ounces) Kraft shredded Monterey Jack cheese 9optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the cheese; mix well. Pour into prepared baking dish.
Cover baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until heated through. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and cook 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Quick tip: I like adding a bit of cayenne pepper to the mix for a kick of heat.
