The most important reason for eating chocolate dump-it cake when you feel like life has “dumped” all over you is the instant gratification you’ll feel when you take that first bite. After all, you made this cake with your own two hands, right? You must be pretty dang awesome to have accomplished such a great feat.
Now, buck up and get to baking you amazing human being!
2 cups Domino sugar
4 ounces Nestle unsweetened chocolate
1 stick Land O Lakes unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the pan
2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the pan
2 teaspoons Clabber Girl baking soda
1 teaspoon Clabber Girl baking powder
1 teaspoon Morton salt
1 cup TruMoo milk
1 teaspoon Heinz cider vinegar
2 Eggland’s Best eggs
1 teaspoon McCormick vanilla
1 ½ cups Nestle’s semisweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups Daisy sour cream, at room temperature
Quick Tip: Heat all ingredients in a pot over low heat as to discourage scalding.
