If you want something with barbecue flavor but don’t have the time (or weather) to do any elaborate grilling, this Slow Cooker Barbecue Pork recipe is a great way to bring that sort of meal to your table.  It is very low-hassle and can easily be refrigerated and re-heated as needed.

I enjoy my barbecue and like breaking out the grill when I can, but I realize that that’s not really an option all the time (even where I am now, there is a limit to outdoor grilling season, and I understand all too well how much “babysitting” that good charcoal grilling can entail).  Thankfully, the Crock-Pot can make a really tender, savory meat dish indoors at any time of year and with minimal hassle.  Even if this recipe isn’t 100% “authentic,” I have to say that it has great barbecue flavor.

Are you looking for a new recipe to boost up your dinner routine? If you need a fairly simple side dish and don’t care for the usual deep-fried options, consider making a batch of these Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries.  They are a fair bit lighter than your usual French fries and can be made in well under an hour.

Though I have eaten plenty of “regular” French fries in my time, I always thought that sweet potato fries had a richer flavor, and despite having a rather Southern character, they go well with main dishes from a wide variety of culinary backgrounds.  The carbs in them are also considered to be healthier, and by baking them instead of frying them, you can minimize the “bad” fats as well, without compromising the richness of flavor.

If you want a simple, tasty dessert, this Classic No-Bake Banana Pudding is about as low-hassle as it gets, and you can have it prepped in under half an hour.  It’s a great family-friendly treat. I remember gobbling up quite a bit of this as a young child and still enjoy it on occasion now, when I want a sweet treat without too much hassle involved.

You can serve this pretty soon after you have refrigerated it, but it is best if you can let it rest for a few hours.  I like eating this with a bit of Cool Whip or whipped cream on top, but it is perfectly fine without that.  This is a great idea for using those bananas that have gone just a little too soft for you to eat by themselves.  Enjoy!

I love traveling. There’s nothing that makes me more happy than being able to experience new cultures, get to know new people and just walk around in a completely different neighborhood. The best thing about traveling, to me, is that I get to have a taste of the delicious local food. Jamaica has been on my bucket list for years – until I get there, this recipe is the next best thing!

Jamaican jerk chicken is a savory, exotic meal with little hassle.  It is fancy enough for an elaborate dinner but simple and quick enough to make for lunch.  Not only that, it’s healthy too! Serve this over white rice and with some roasted bell peppers on the side. This recipe generally serves about 8 people.  It is spicy but you can leave out the jalapeno to tone it down.

If a nice, creamy soup is your idea of comfort food, you ought to give this Broccoli Cheddar Soup a try.  It’s simple to put together, takes just a little over half an hour to put together, and filling.  It makes for a fine vegetarian option, as-is, and it is highly adjustable according to your tastes.

Maybe I am a bit weird, but I have always liked broccoli.  Some people cringe even at the thought of it, but not me! Sometimes, I’ll even eat it raw with a nice, creamy dip, though it perhaps shines the most when softened just a bit and mixed with cheese.  This makes it an ideal central ingredient for an easy but very filling and comforting soup. Remember to make enough for leftovers!

Quick tip: Try adding cauliflower, too – it pairs really well with broccoli!
