You can make a country boiled dinner right in your crock pot! I was surprised to learn this, too. I jumped right in that very day because this is one that many of our southern friends cook up and invite us over for. It is phenomenal! I beg you to take advantage of this one and fall in love.
First off, you have shrimp. Then add in sausage, corn and potatoes and wah lah! The fact you don’t have to hang out in the blazing sun is a bonus, although I’ve seen my friends prepare this in a huge pot over an open fire. This version doesn’t lose any of the flavor you’d expect, and you can fix it and forget it until it’s time for dinner.
