I love fried chicken. Like really, really love the stuff! However, I don’t love all of the fat and calories that go along with it. So, I thought maybe if I just baked the chicken it would still come out just as good, right? Wrong! Baked chicken is not even on the same playing field as pan-fried poultry. That’s when my dear friend and neighbor Sally suggested I tried making friend chicken in the Crock Pot. I looked at her like she’d just lost her mind. If baking chicken in the oven can’t compare to pan-friend chicken then how on earth can cooking it in the slow cooker?
Well, guys and gals, I always try everything once so I gave it a shot. Wow, am I ever glad that I did! I don’t know what the heck is going on up in that Crock Pot but this chicken really does fry! The skin comes out nice and crisp and it has that fried chicken taste to it. can you believe that? I am so glad that i took sally’s advice because this chicken is literally half the calories of traditionally fried chicken. I think that’s pretty ding dang cool, don’t you?
