A Cookie Recipe So Good, It Broke The Internet
These cookies are among my most requested for the Christmas Holidays – they are Christmas In a cookie, with the decadent Eggnog flavor they have won over the pickiest of cookie connoisseurs. My Great Great GREAT grandmother apparently made cookies similar to these – over 200 years ago! Isn’t that amazing? To think that back in the 1800’s my granny was making these delicious cookies for the holiday season. How charming!
The sad part is, her recipe has gone missing even though it still lives in the memories of the eldest of our family. I’m glad I was able to find this recipe over at Home In The Finger Lakes, because this turned out even better than the one I had been using before.
I love making these cookies and then telling the tale of my granny making eggnog cookies. Setting these cookies out on your holiday table using a decorative plate always looks nice and creates almost a decoration for your table. I’ll warn you now, though, your friends and family will soon eat your “decoration.” LOL!
