My girlfriend from college and her new husband had just moved back to our hometown. They were ready to start having children, and the area that we grew up in is a great place to raise a family. I started having kids right out of high school, after me and my high school sweetheart got married. My husband owns his own construction business and I do the paperwork. We knew this is what our life was going to be when we were in the tenth grade, that’s why we never had to leave. I watched so many of my friends leave, and only a few came back.
This particular friend and her husband moved into one of the gorgeous houses that my husband had built. They wanted to have us over for dinner, so of course we accepted. It was a kid-free night, so we got a baby sitter. It was pretty exciting!
For dinner she made this skillet French onion chicken that I just couldn’t stop eating. I had to ask her if she took cooking classes while she was away and she said no, she found the recipe on The Cookie Rookie!
