I never knew how much I was going to love camping growing up. Granted, my sister and I used to camp in a little tent in the backyard sometimes. That wasn’t at all what camping was really like when we got older though. My parents never got into it, but my first high school boyfriend and his parents went all the time. When they invited me to go with them, of course I said yes. They had a great big trailer camper with plenty of room for everyone. We weren’t roughing it by any means, but it was still a good time. His mom did all the cooking either on the camp stove or over the fire. I remember the little kids asking for pizza a couple times and that made me laugh.
One morning, before anyone got up, she was busy at work making sausage breakfast burritos. That was something that we didn’t have at home. I had tried them at McDonald’s before, but they were nothing like the ones she made. Her’s were way better. The recipe on Relative Taste reminds me a lot of those.
I married that high school boyfriend of mine, and we still go camping today, but with our own kids. We have these sausage breakfast burritos all the time too. We don’t have to be out in the woods to enjoy these that’s for sure!

Quick Tip: You can use spicy sausage and pepper jack cheese for a spicier version.
