Our school was in desperate need of a some new playground equipment. We had done the fundraisers including candy bar sales and going door-to-door selling various items, but it just wasn’t enough money to do what they wanted to for the kids. As a member of the PTA, I suggested doing a silent auction bake sale. It would be different than a regular bake sale, because you couldn’t just go in and buy what you wanted. That way, hopefully the prices would be driven up a bit and we could make the money that we so desperately needed. we had to make some desserts that were going to be worth the dollars being spent though.
Cake balls came to my mind almost instantly. There’s so much that can be done to these to make each one individual and unique to fit each person’s taste. We got together and made up a huge batch of all different flavors and plated them up so that everyone could choose their favorites.
The recipe that I found on Group Recipes was by far the easiest one that I had ever used. This is one that I can see getting used up again and again even at home for the kids.
