When I first heard of this Spam sandwich spread I thought of the ham spread my grandma used to make. I think it was called deviled ham salad spread? Does anyone remember? Anyway, to me, it didn’t taste very good and I always hated eating it for lunch at grandma’s house. Luckily, she took pity on me and always made me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, instead. That grandma, she was such a peach! I guess as I got older my tastes changed because I really enjoy this Spam salad, now.
See what my friend Stacey Hill from Just A Pinch had to say about this recipe:
I made this up a few years back when I wanted to make quick sandwiches or to have something in the fridge that lasts long. I think Spam lasts for years… LOL. Use the low-fat and low-sodium Spam to lower the guilt!
I didn’t think I’d like this sandwich spread but guess what? I did because it’s AWESOME!
