This is a very hearty casserole!
Hi, there everyone! I am completely in love with this hamburger casserole. I have quite a few burger casseroles floating around my recipe box but this one takes the cake…er…casserole. It’s simple to make and easy to eat! Perfect for a weeknight meal. My husband and kids really like this version of hamburger casserole and claim that it tastes a lot like pizza casserole. I guess I can understand that comparison as there is tomato sauce, cheese, and burger in the mix.
If you are looking for a weeknight meal that is truly easy to whip up and will feed your family’s hungry bellies, look no further. This hamburger casserole is definitely the ticket. I love how simple it is to make and what a nice, hot, and bubbly casserole that comes out of the oven in no time flat.
When I make hamburger casserole I usually make it with a side salad with ranch dressing. Although, my middle son prefers his salad with Italian dressing. To each his own, right? Enjoy!

This recipe really caught my attention, but I wasn’t very happy about there not being a ‘print’ option for the recipe.
I’m not in to hand writing recipes, so I’ll have to just let this one slide.
Shame.
Looks good though.
If u highlight the ingredients, then right click u get drop down, hit print.
highlight recipe, copy, paste to word, print.
Copy and paste in word
Share the recipe to your Facebook timeline, then you’ll have it. That’s what I did.
An idea, why not do a screen shot of the recipe, and print your screenshot? I do that a lot! Happy cooking!
hit CTRL/P and select page 2……SIMPLE as that
just press the CTRL and the P at the same time and you will get a print page. There you can decide if you want every page.
where does one buy hamburger ?i usually make hamburgers out of ground beef and ground pork
That’s what to use ground beef.
On the Hamburger casserole, you do not say if you used Mozzarella, or a Cheddar cheese, you also do not say if you cut the biscuit dough to make it thinner. I would imagine you could use any cheese you like, but your picture looks like it would be Mozzarella.
What size oz can of tomato sauce?
I made this last night and it was a big hit. I added pepperoni with the hamburger and I used fresh mushrooms. I ended up with 3 casseroles by the time I was done but what was not eaten last night the family was already talking about leftovers. When you serve 9 it is nice to find something they all love. This recipe is now on a must serve in my home.
What size cans of tomato sauce and diced tomatoes should be used?
What size of tomato sauce & diced tomatoes? Do you drain diced tomatoes?
How many biscuits does can you use have? What size of dish did you use?
Thanks
Would help me if I Knew sizes of everything.
Is that a small can or a big can of tomato sauce.
Are you suppose to drain the diced tomatoes???? My casserole was very juicy and wet from all the tomato stuff! I couldn’t get the bisquits done Because there was so much liquid. I baked the casserole 45 minutes longer than the bisquits said and drained the tomatoes juice off twice! What did I do wrong?,
Sounds yummy! What size can tomato sauce?
THE BEEFY BURGER casserole LOOKS& SOUNDS GOOD. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT SOON .
What size cans of diced tomatoes and sauce?
Why don’t you ever list the oven temperature? Beginning cooks wouldn’t know.
What sizes are the canned ingredients? What size pan to bake this is?
There are no amount of ounces or size of ingredients mentioned, could make a big difference.
A few questions….what size pan did you use? Are there any seasonings in this casserole and is the can of diced tomatoes drained? What kind of Kraft cheese did you use and how much? Sorry….but this recipe may be good but the directions are not very clear. THANKS
Recipes always looks good. The ones I have tried

What size pan?
Teri, copy and paste it to a document, then you can print it.
For those asking, my guess would be an 8 oz can of tomato sauce and a 14-oz can of diced tomatoes, drained. Use regular biscuits (not Grands)and it looks like a 9X13 pan.
Wonder how this would taste with a crescent dough crust on bottom are pie crust, or pizza crust..
What the heck is Penn. canned mushrooms?
Probably Pennsylvania Dutch. Feel free to use any brand that you want 🙂
Why are people being so critical in the comments. She isn’t Betty crocker. It’s a family recipe she was nice enough to share. I like to play with recipes and customize them to my families tastes. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Heather 🙂 We’ve got some real Gordon Ramsey’s up in here.
Am I missing the entire recipe? What size tomato sauce? Do you drain the tomatoes and what size can? Thanks.
I right clicked my mouse and the menu came up for me to print. When the print menu comes up just print pages 1 to 3 or otherwise you will have to print like 7 pages. oops.
The criticisms are totally justified. The only measurement given is for the hamburger. The recipe might as well have read “try throwing these ingredients together”.
Great recipe. I used venison burger and my cooking skills for a delicious casserole.
