When I was a little girl, my grandma used to let me tag along with her to the local coffee shop when she met with her friends from the church for breakfast. Everyone would always order eggs, pancakes, or omelets. However, grandma would let me have my pick of the lovely pastries that lined the bakery window.
Can you guess which pastry I’d always choose? The danish! Out of all the freshly made doughnuts and cookies, the cherry cheese danishes were my favorite. Cherry danishes have remained my favorite pastry for as long as I can remember; then I came across this recipe for chocolate chip danishes and changed my tune a bit. What’s not to love about chocolate and a cheese-filled danish? Nothing!

Quick Tip: Serve these danishes with a cup of piping hot coffee or cocoa.
